Constructed with laminated Latvian Birch they are incredibly strong and can be mounted to a wall in a variety of orientations giving them some flexibility in how you display them. The site was located in the Berkeley hills overlooking the bay. I split the pool into individual lap pools and left the site without walking path to let people discover the site for themselves. The paths take form over the continual use of the gym members. The big idea of this project was to take the experience a of going to the gm and integrate it into the nature of the site without disturbing the vegetation and beauty of it. I also designed a climbing wall which is essentially a canyon formed by cutting into the steepest area of the site, elevating the walls as they go deeper into it. Yoga platforms were also set into the hillside.
